The name Mac Freight ...

The name Mac Freight was chosen to honor my father, Command Sergeant Major M.E. "Mac" McGrath who retired in 1971 after serving in the U.S. Army for 20+ years. He received several commendations, including the Bronze Star, during his Signal Corp career in the United States, Japan, Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He passed away in November of 2008 and was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.

I served in the U.S. Navy, being discharged in 1978. After attending boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL, duty stations included; Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA; U.S. Army Defense Language Institute Presidio of Monterey, Monterey, CA; USS Anchorage (LSD 36), San Diego, CA, and Assault Boat Coxswain School, Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Coronado, CA.
